This kind of time interval is called Time Slot. This is a method that when people A, B, C want to speak to each other, they make an order, so they can talk in order. For example, A speaks first, then B does, then C does and this routine comes around.
There can be a concern that when there is a certain routine for speaking, it can make conversation stop as being the conversation ineffective. However, Time Slot makes speaker's story delivered in such a short time interval that we can not even feel the time slots between speakers.
iDEN is a system using TDMA to make an effective single frequency channel through : -
- Possible 3ways communication (using mobile phone mode)
- Possible 4ways communication (using 2 wireless Stations and 2 mobile phone mode)
- Possible 6ways communication (using wireless station mode)
iDEN System uses RF signal dividing into 6 separate time slot in 15msec, and this 6 time slots can make 6 calls(using wireless station) or 3 calls(using mobile phone) effectively.
